Guðrún Björg Sigurðardóttir

Guðrún Björg Sigurðardóttir, better known as Gobi, started working at Doorway Casting in 2022 as a Casting Associate.

Gobi attended the Icelandic Film School for a year in 2015-2016 in the acting program, however, after finding her passion behind the camera Gobi decided to switch lanes. Gobi went to dBs Music and Film school in Berlin where she finished her diploma in fimmaking with her focus on Production and Director Assistance in 2017. She then went to study Media and Communication Management at Hochschule Macro Media Berlin, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in 2021.

While living in Berlin, Gobi got into the music scene and was a creative director for a series of Studio Sessions with various different artists. Gobi found a deep passion with capturing talent on camera and work with unique individuals.

Gobi moved back to Iceland during the pandemic and started to dive deeper into the movie and tv production. A long side working at Doorway Casting, Gobi has started to work as a 1st Assistance Director on productions in Iceland.

The skill asset that Gobi brings as a Casting Associate is her ability to understand the production and inter-personal aspect of the industry. Gobi is also thankful for her year in the acting program, since it gives her a level of understanding when working with actors and directors
